What is the add-on domain feature that I see in cPanel?

An add-on domain is a domain name that that points to a sub-directory within your account. For example, you may want innovation.org to point to business.org/innovation/. Add-on domains must be registered domain names that you own and configured to point to our servers.

Though we no longer charge for add-on domains, add-on domains are given out on a per need basis. If you would like to add an add-on domain(s) to your existing hosting service then please open up a support ticket via your client area to request the upgrade and we will get that done for you very fast.

Here is how to setup your add-on domain:

1. Log into cPanel (http://yourdomain/cpanel)

2. Click on the Addon Domains icon within the Domains section of cPanel.

3. In the Create an Addon Domain fields do the following:

New Domain Name: (your addon domain goes here)

Subdomain/FTP Username: (will be automatically populated by the above field)

Document Root: (will be automatically populated by the New Domain Name field)

Password: Use a secure password here. This will be your FTP password so you can log in directly into the add-on domain's directory

4. Click the Add Domain button and wait for the magic!
