How To Manage Users in WordPress

WordPress has a great user management function that allows you to add additional users to your WordPress website. WordPress allows you to assign different user roles. These roles include administrator, author, contributor, and subscriber. Some plugins will add additional roles for your users. Yoast SEO is one plugin that does that. 

Add A User:

  1. Log into your WordPress application at https://www.yourdomain.com/wp-login.php.

  2. On the Left Side menu, click on Users and then Add Users.

  3. Fill out the form, choose a role, and click  the Add New User button.

Edit A User:

  1. Log into your WordPress application at https://www.yourdomain.com/wp-login.php.

  2. On the Left Side menu, click on Users and then All Users.

  3. Here you will see a list of your current users, including the main Administrator. Highlight the username of the user you wish to edit, and click the Edit link that appears.

  4. Here you can add a lot more information to a user than is allowed on the Add User form.

Remove A User:

  1. Log into your WordPress application at https://www.yourdomain.com/wp-login.php.

  2. On the Left Side menu, click on Users and then All Users.

  3. Here you will see a list of your current users, including the main Administrator.  Select the checkbox next to the user you wish to delete.

  4. With the box checked, select Delete from the Bulk Actions drop down, and then click the Apply button.
